SPE UGM-SC will proudly held :

The 11th Student Paper Contest
“Utilizing Apropriate Technology in Exploring, Exploiting and Processing to Conserved Fossil Energyfor the Next Generation”
February 27th, 2011.
Universitas Gadjah Mada.
Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

In order to improve the quality of Society of Petroleum Engineers members who have global resistance. Society of Petroleum Engineers of Gadjah Mada University Student Chapter have a responsibility to realize that purposes.
As an action to realize that purpose, SPE SC UGM would held the 11th Student Paper Contest. This competition is an annually event from SPE Young Professionals (YP) and could be followed by all over students from all major within SPE members in SPE Java Section regional area. Theme for this competition is Utilizing Apropriate Technology in Exploring, Exploiting and Processing to Conserved Fossil Energy for the Next Generation.
We choose that theme because oil and gas industry is a dynamic and prospect area to develop and there are always new innovation in the exploring, exploiting and processing technology. One earth. These two words remind us to live side by side with the nature. The nature provides us many kinds of energy to be used. These are renewable and unrenewable energy. We often think that the unrenewable energy is a thread for our life in this earth. The reasons are this energy releases emission and mainly it is not renewable. The result is people feel afraid to use it because the energy cannot be conserved for our next generation. Whereas in fact with the appropriate technology in exploring, exploiting and processing we can save this unrenewable energy from wasteful usage so that our next generation still can use this kind of energy.
We hope this Student Paper Contest will create a person who have high intellectuality in his/her major which are related with oil and gas industry and could make a network and improve the quality among SPE members from all over universities.
